Vitaminwater, Facebook ‘connect’
NEW YORK Vitaminwater has unveiled its newest beverage, created with the help of the brand’s Facebook fans.
Vitaminwater’s newest flavor, Connect, is a black cherry-lime flavor made with caffeine and eight key nutrients. One grand prize winner and four finalists were chosen, whose labels all inspired the finished product. The grand prize winner and four finalists were chosen in part by the brand’s celebrity spokespeople, Carrie Underwood and 50 Cent.
Connect will be available in stores nationwide in March 2010. Consumers are urged to keep their eyes on www.facebook.com/vitaminwater for news, information, and special offers for Connect, including a possible sneak tasting opportunity.
Sara Lee changes product labeling on baked goods, adds nutrition info
DOWNERS GROVE, Ill. Sara Lee on Wednesday announced that it will add nutrition information to its packages of bagels, bread, buns and other baked items. The Nutritional Spotlight labels will be added to product packages this month, starting with the Sara Lee Soft & Smooth bread brand.
“We know individuals want convenient, nutritious choices when shopping at their grocery stores,” Sara Lee VP Tim Zimmer said in reports. “The Nutritional Spotlight helps individuals quickly identify Sara Lee products that contain the nutrients most important to them and their families.”
The revised labeling comes as part of an effort by Sara Lee to help families make wise nutrition selections when shopping for baked goods, reports said.
Campbell taps Linder for VP advertising post
CHICAGO Campbell Soup Co. today announced that Maureen Linder, former Pepperidge Farm VP of brand strategy and marketing, will replace Paul Alexander as its VP global advertising and design. Linder will report to Campbell USA president Sean Connolly and SVP and chief strategy officer, Carl Johnson.
Linder’s duties will include overseeing Campbell’s advertising operations, and media planning and buying. Additionally, Linder will be called upon to manage Campbell’s advertising agencies.
Linder has worked with Campbell Soup Co. since 1997. Before joining Campbell,she served in various positions at Barilla, Bristol-Myers Squibb and Quaker.
