Winning Brands products soon to appear on pharmacy shelves

LOS ANGELES Winning Brands soon will begin selling its cleaning products at independent pharmacies, the company said.

The company, which makes such products as Winning Colours stain remover, will market the products in retail pharmacies through the American Pharmacy Cooperative, Inc.

“APCI is an important organization,” Winning Brands CEO Eric Lehner stated. “There are over 20,000 independent pharmacies in the United States that would benefit from adding Winning Colours stain remover to their product mix.”

MemorialCare Health System opens new clinics at Albertsons/Sav-On Pharmacy stores

FOUNTAIN VALLEY, Calif. MemorialCare Health System has announced the opening of three new retail health clinics at Albertsons/Sav-On Pharmacy stores in Huntington Beach, Irvine and Mission Viejo, Calif.

“We are pleased to have entered into this new partnership with MemorialCare, a trusted source for quality health care,” stated Sue Klug, president of Albertsons Southern California division. “This demonstrates how businesses like ours can collaborate with healthcare organizations to ensure the communities and families we serve have additional access to health services.”

The new retail clinics, called MemorialCare HealthExpress, are staffed by nurse practitioners and offer treatment for adults and children over the age of 2 years for such common illnesses as colds, flu, sore throats, earaches, sinus infections, skin conditions and minor wounds. Other services include vaccinations and annual flu shots, which currently are available.

“Our MemorialCare Health Express retail clinics make health care easier, affordable and convenient,” stated Barry Arbuckle, president and CEO of MemorialCare Health System. “These clinics expand the options available to patients and also link consumers to primary care physicians by helping them locate a physician if they don’t already have one.”

Giant Eagle selects pharmacy workflow automation system

SAN DIEGO RxSafe on Thursday announced the installation of its RxSafe 1800 system at a Giant Eagle in the Pittsburgh market.

The RxSafe system is a pharmacy workflow automation system for prescription medication in native packaging. The system allows pharmacies to accurately fill and track prescriptions, manage inventory, eliminate theft and diversion, and avoid expired product. The customizable RxSafe system stores and automates up to 5,400 native prescription containers in less than 40 sq. ft. of space and realizes a peak capacity of up to 500 scripts per hour in multi-operator mode.

“We’re honored to have our leadership in pharmacy automation technology validated by Giant Eagle’s interest in our new system,” stated William Holmes, RxSafe CEO.
