Chelsea Handler, 7UP Ten challenge Americans
PLANO, Texas — Comedian Chelsea Handler and 7UP TEN are teaming up to bring a fresh challenge to Americans for 2014. The duo is empowering people to toss out their New Year’s resolutions and embrace the things they love by making a resolution that they can actually keep.
“Year after year, people make unrealistic resolutions and resolve to give up sweets, give up being a couch potato, give up being miserable at their job and resolve to find their one true soul mate. And believe me — that’s just my list. But these lists just go on and on. Frankly, I’m sick of it,” Handler said. “That’s why I love 7UP TEN. I really don’t have to give up anything.”
The TEN website features videos of Chelsea lampooning 10 popular — and often times unsuccessful — New Year’s resolutions.
“Chelsea Handler is the perfect person to help 7UP TEN spread the message that consumers should give up nothing this year and make resolutions they can keep,” Eric Blackwood, director of brand marketing at Dr Pepper Snapple Group, said. “With the line of TEN beverages, consumers can do what they want, drink what they want and still get the full flavor they love — with no guilt.”
The 10-calorie soda line made its debut on store shelves in 2013 and comes in five flavors: 7UP TEN, A&W TEN, Sunkist TEN, Canada Dry TEN and RC TEN.

KUALA LUMPUR, Malaysia — PureCircle, a producer and marketer of stevia, announced that the Food and Drug Administration has approved PureCircle’s Rebaudioside M (Reb M) as a general purpose sweetener for foods and beverages in the United States.
“Ongoing investment in supply chain assets and leaf development are in place to support the commercialization of Reb M,” Jason Hecker, VP global marketing and innovation, PureCircle said. “We are excited by the opportunities Reb M presents for success within the framework of our Stevia 3.0 capabilities.”
