Target unveils Sonia Kashuk 2011 fall collection

MINNEAPOLIS — Target is ushering in fall with Sonia Kashuk’s latest collection at Target, including shades and makeup brushes in a chic new print.

The Sonia Kashuk 2011 fall collection includes:

  • Brush Couture Five-Piece Brush Set ($14.99): The five-piece brush set comes in a chic black-and-white tribal print and includes a powder/blusher brush, crease brush, synthetic concealer/foundation brush, small eye shadow brush and smudge brush.

SHADE ADDITIONS

  • Instructional Eye Shadow Palette ($19.99): The12-shade eye shadow palette comes with step-by-step instructions from Sonia Kashuk, and color-coded illustations. This new seasonal color palette includes jewel tones, dusty mauves and shimmery metallics in contrasting textures, from satin and velvet to semi-matte finishes infused with subtle shimmer. Now available in Eye On Fall Color.

  • Nail Colour ($4.99): Nails will be the season’s must-have accessory.  Now available in Sugar Rush, a sheer feminine pink; Mauving On Up, a dusty mauve; Chocoholic Brown; and Blank Slate, a blue-gray that pairs with fall’s deeper color palette.

Downy looks to break Guinness World Record in Canada

TORONTO — Downy is seeking to break a Guinness World Record for the most hugs given in eight hours by a team.

The fabric softener brand has enlisted Torontonians to come out for a chance to be part of the event, which will be held Sept. 3 at the Canadian National Exhibition. Downy ambassadors also will be on hand.

If successful, Downy said it will donate $5,000 to Boys & Girls Clubs of Canada.

Derma e Natural Bodycare appoints North American beauty sales manager

SIMI VALLEY, Calif. — Derma e Natural Bodycare, a maker of natural skin care products, has hired a North American beauty sales manager to help bolster sales and awareness of its natural facial care brand in the United States.

As North American beauty sales manager, Debbie Sellers will work with salons and beauty stores to find and grow new revenue streams by meeting the consumer demand for natural skin care products. Sellers has more than 20 years experience within the beauty industry on both the manufacturing and distribution sides.  Working with such companies as Redken, Pureology and Designer Skin, she has a track record of increasing brand recognition and market share, the manufacturer stated.

“Because consumers are becoming more educated and savvy when selecting their beauty products, I feel that this industry is prime for receiving Derma e with open arms. Not only does the company offer the finest natural skin care products available, but Derma e [also] operates with a social conscience and high level of integrity that stands out from mainstream beauty brands. I look forward to increasing the sales and awareness of Derma e in the beauty channel,” Sellers stated.
