BY Antoinette Alexander

MINNEAPOLIS — Target announced on Thursday that flu vaccines are now available at all Target Pharmacy and Target Clinic locations nationwide.

Target will offer guests quadrivalent, trivalent and high dose. In addition, FluMist will be available later this month. All vaccines are also available in preservative-free options, the company noted.

“At Target, we know that prevention is key when it comes to keeping families healthy during the cold and flu season,” stated Kevin Ronneberg, medical director, Target. “We’re pleased to provide a variety of vaccine products to meet the needs of all our guests, including traditional shots as well as the nasal spray."

At Target, trained pharmacists and/or nurse practitioners administer flu vaccines, with no appointment necessary. Target pharmacies and clinics accept most insurance plans. In addition, flu vaccines are included in the Pharmacy Rewards program. Guests who enroll in Pharmacy Rewards and fill five eligible prescriptions at Target Pharmacy earn 5% off a day of Target shopping. Pharmacy Rewards savings can be added to the everyday 5% discount for REDcard holders, the company stated.
