Take Care launches recruitment program for nurse practitioners

CONSHOHOCKEN, Pa. Take Care Health Systems, which is owned by Walgreens, has kicked off a recruitment program that includes a recruitment video aimed at educating nurse practitioners on the convenient care model and showcasing what sets Take Care apart.

This week and next week, nursing organizations and leaders across the country, including top Deans at nursing schools, will receive the DVD with a note from Take Care Health. It can also be viewed by visiting www.takecarehealth.com/npvideo.

The seven-minute video features comments from Peter Miller, co-founder, president, and chief executive officer of Take Care; Hal Rosenbluth, co-founder of Take Care and corporate vice president of Walgreens; and Sandy Ryan, chief nurse practitioner officer.

The video also features three Take Care nurse practitioners who discuss their belief in the Take Care and convenient care model, and their support of the company’s mission.

Take Care currently manages more than 145 Take Care clinics and plans to have more than 400 clinics at Walgreens stores by the end of 2008.

Winn-Dixie announces four new additions to corporate staff

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. Winn-Dixie Stores, a grocery store chain of about 520 stores, has recently announced four new associates to its corporate staff.

The company has named Mark Tanis vice president of Compensation and Benefits. He formerly worked for companies such as Watson Wyatt Worldwide, and Hewitt Associates. Chris Vukich, who has a title of vice president of Pricing, previously held positions at Dell Computer and Wall-mart.

Joe McKie, who will serve as vice-president of Corporate Brands, formerly worked for several high-profile companies such as Federal Group and Daymen Worldwide. Finally, Matt Guttermuth, Winn Dixie’s new vice president of Center Store, held a position as former president and chief executive officer of Safeway.com, and has also worked for a string of top global companies.

According to the company, Tanis will be responsible for planning and applying a new compensation and befits program for the staff of 52,000. Vukic will be managing and developing pricing strategies for the company. McKie will oversee and redesign Winn-Dixie’s private label products as well as taking care of all the corporate brands initiatives, and Guttermuth will be in charge of the Center store as well as all its buying and merchandising departments.

CVS unveils field for 10th annual Charity Classic

WOONSOCKET, R.I. CVS Caremark, along with CVS Charity Classic co-hosts Brad Faxon and Billy Andrade, unveiled on Monday the field for the Charity Classic’s 10th anniversary edition.

“We are thrilled to be celebrating the 10th anniversary of the CVS Caremark Charity Classic with such a distinguished group of the world’s top golfers,” stated Eileen Howard Dunn, tournament chairman of the CVS Caremark Charity Classic. “Most importantly, however, we’re proud to be marking the tournament’s significant philanthropic endeavors. During the past nine years the CVS Caremark Charity Classic has raised more than $10 million for New England charities dedicated to children and families.”

This year, the annual golf tournament is scheduled for June 22 to 24 at Rhode Island Country Club and will benefit numerous regional charities. It will once again draw its 20-player field from the ranks of the PGA, LPGA and Champions tours. The announced field represents three countries and includes legendary golfer and three-time Masters Champion Nick Faldo, who will be making his inaugural appearance.

Tournament week begins with the Pepsi Pro-Am on June 22 followed by the two-day tournament June 23 to 24. Participants will be competing for a purse of $1.55 million.

Beginning May 11, tickets for the event will be available free through a special promotion at CVS stores in Rhode Island as well as select locations in Massachusetts.
