The Switch expands to retail markets
DARIEN, Conn. The Switch, a sparkling juice, is expanding its market from 4,000 schools nationwide and into the retail sector.
The Switch, which is made of 100% juice, is now available online at Amazon.com, as well as at key retailers including Tops, D’Agostinos, Big Y, Kings and select Whole Foods in the past few months. Such retailers as Wegmans, Price Chopper and Kroger’s eastern divisions are aiming to launch The Swing before the back-to-school rush.
The Switch will also be launching its new lemon-lime flavor.

Lindt expands premium chocolate portfolio with new raisin and nuts bar

Pepsi Bottling Group completes acquisition of Mass.-based bottler
SOMERS, N.Y. The Pepsi Bottling Group announced that it has completed its acquisition of Pepsi-Cola Bottlers for the Merrimack Valley, Inc. Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
The Haverhill, Mass.-based company is a Pepsi-Cola franchised bottler serving northeastern Massachusetts.
PBG has now completed four U.S. bottler acquisitions since the beginning of 2008. The company also recently announced plans to acquire Ab-Tex Beverage, Ltd., a Pepsi-Cola and Dr Pepper bottler based in Abilene, Texas. The Ab-Tex transaction is expected to close in the third quarter.
