Surya Brasil introduces men’s organic body care line
NEW YORK Surya Brasil, a supplier of organic and natural cosmetics from Brazil, has introduced a new organic body care line for men.
Sapien is formulated for male skin and hair, and offers pure essential oils, gluten-free amaranth proteins and mild cleansing agents. Each of the six formulations is certified organic through Eco Cert and is cruelty-free.
The collection includes Shampoo 2-in-1, Shower Gel, Facial Scrub, Shave Cream, After Shave Cream and Styling Gel. The products are made with ethically harvested plants and fruits from the Amazon. The subtle woody aroma is derived from a blend of essential oils including cedarwood, lemon, bergamot and clove.
The company is a member of the Campaign for Safe Cosmetics and PETA. The products are sold in health food stores, pharmacies and beauty supply outlets throughout the world. The Sao Paulo-based company has offices in the United States and India and also exports to more than 15 countries.
Allegro launches spring, summer designer cosmetic bag collections
LOS ANGELES Allegro Manufacturing, which is owned by Conair, is launching for 2009 new spring/summer collections under the Trina and Morella brands.
The 2009 Trina collection, a premium cosmetic bag line, features a mix of modern luxury with elements of classic elegance. The new collection features sleek textures and rich fabrics that are coupled with bold citrus tones and black and white minimalism to reflect the season’s trends. Within the collection are eight unique lines priced between $25 and $99.
For the mass market, Allegro is offering the Modella 2009 spring/summer collection. Modella bags combine form and function with their bright colors and distinctive patterns on bags that serve a purpose for all kinds of travel.
The new Modella collection includes fitted valets, three-piece weekend sets, purse kits, fitted mini-train cases and a fitted weekender made of recycled nylon. The pieces are priced at less than $15.
EcoTools expands its lines to earth-friendly nail care
NEW YORK EcoTools, a mass eco-conscious cosmetic brush and bath accessories brand launched in February, is expanding its line for 2009 to be a mass eco-friendly nail care collection.
For 2009, the brand is expanding into a new category with the introduction of an eco-friendly nail care collection featuring products like bamboo sticks and recycled steel sapphire files. A line of liquid bath and body products is also in the works for 2009, marking yet another new venture.
In addition, EcoTools is expanding beyond its original collection, which focused primarily on bamboo, to now include brushes cased in recycled aluminum and cleansing sponges made of soybean oil.
As in 2008, EcoTools will retain its partnership with 1 Percent For the Planet by donating 1 percent of annual sales to the organization for 2009.
