Stop & Shop brings back ‘A+ School Rewards’ fundraiser

PURCHASE, N.Y. and QUINCY, Mass. — Stop & Shop has announced that customers can help earn money for their local schools when they grocery shop through Stop & Shop’s school fundraiser dubbed "A+ School Rewards."

There is no limit to what schools can do with their A+ School Rewards, including earning cash for technology, scholarships, school programs, field trips, playgrounds and other educational needs.

In the 2012-2013 school year, St. Charles School on Staten Island, the program’s No. 1 rewards leader, raised $22,822.10 to purchase new computers for its classrooms and improve its technology systems.

"Stop & Shop is committed to be a better neighbor in every community in which we operate," stated Judi Palmer, director of marketing and external communications at Stop & Shop New England. "The A+ School Rewards program is a great way for our customers and families to raise money to help support their local schools."

To participate in the program and help local schools earn money, customers must sign up each year and designate up to two schools by visiting their local Stop & Shop or at StopandShop.com/aplus. A+ School Rewards are accrued with each purchase made using one’s Stop & Shop loyalty card beginning Oct. 4 and continuing through March 20. 

Beginning in November, current school totals can be found on the A+ website. Since 2009, Stop & Shop’s A+ School Rewards program has raised more than $7 million to help both public and private schools in the Northeast region fulfill their academic and enrichment needs.

CoverGirl, NFL partner to offer female fans team-inspired nail looks

HUNT VALLEY, Md. — This fall, football is going femme as Procter & Gamble’s CoverGirl is teaming up with the NFL to celebrate the League’s female fans.

Aside from the team jerseys, lucky hats, foam fingers and pom-poms, women game-goers and –watchers now have the chance to express their on-the-field allegiance via official NFL CoverGirl “fanicures,” inspired by all 32 NFL team logos and colors.

Available online and at retail, the 32 customized CoverGirl Outlast Stay Brilliant Nail Gloss designs offer all women the chance to wear their heart for the home team on their hands, whether a Bengal, Brown, Bronco or Buccaneer.

In addition to the team-customized CoverGirl nail polish designs, NFL fans also will have the opportunity to experience “fanicures” in action at select home games — inside the stadium at NFL Style Lounges and outside the stadium via CoverGirl mobile manicure stations.
