SnackWell’s returns to store shelves with new look, products

EAST HANOVER, N.J. — SnackWell’s has overhauled its line of products for women with new portioned, indulgent snacks.

The brand, which is owned by Kraft Foods, said the latest SnackWell’s treats will range from 100 to 150 calories per pack. The products, along with such classic SnackWell’s treats as devil’s food cookie cakes and creme sandwich cookies, will feature new and modern packaging.

The new SnackWell’s products made their debut nationwide in mid-April with a suggested retail price of $3.19 per box; each box features five individually portioned packs.

The line includes four new indulgent, portion-controlled products:

  • Fudge-drizzled caramel popcorn;

  • White fudge-drizzled caramel popcorn;

  • Fudge creme brownie bites; and

  • Rich vanilla creme brownie bites.

What’s more, several 100-calorie packs sold under the Nabisco brand also will be part of the SnackWell’s family, including:

  • Fudge Petites — fudge;

  • Fudge Petites — mint fudge;

  • Fudge-drizzled chocolate chip cookies; and

  • Fudge-drizzled double chocolate chip cookies.

Frito-Lay breaks Guinness World Record for Facebook ‘likes’

PLANO, Texas — Frito-Lay fans really "like" the brand.

The PepsiCo division said that its growing Facebook fan base has helped it garner the Guinness World Record title for "Most Fans on Facebook in 24 Hours," with nearly 1.6 million "likes" in one day, which occurred April 11.

To celebrate this achievement, Frito-Lay is giving away a coupon for a free bag of chips on its Facebook page to the first 24,000 consumers that "like" Frito-Lay, starting on April 29 at 2 p.m. Central Standard Time.

"When we set out to share the latest news around our product portfolio and the culinary inspiration behind our newest products made with all-natural ingredients, we wanted to do it in a way that truly engaged our fans in the story," said Ram Krishnan, senior director of marketing at Frito-Lay. "Our fans responded in the biggest way possible — by setting a Guinness World Record for their engagement with us. It’s a remarkable achievement, and we’re excited to thank the fans who made it possible."

Beanfields introduces new tortilla chips

LOS ANGELES — Beanfields has introduced a new line of corn- and gluten-free tortilla chips.

Beanfields’ bean and rice chips are made with black beans, navy beans and long-grain rice. The company said the line includes four flavors: naturally unsalted, sea salt, sea salt and pepper, and pico de gallo.

A 6-oz. bag of Beanfields chips retails from $2.99 to $3.99.
