P&G files lawsuit over Olay Regenerist patents

CINCINNATI Procter & Gamble has filed a lawsuit against Fruit of the Earth, alleging that it infringed on various patents and its Olay Regenerist trade dress.

The suit, filed in the United States Federal District Court for the Southern District of Ohio, claims that Fruit of the Earth infringed on three patents as well as infringed on trade dress of the Olay Regenerist packaging by an entire line of look-alike products sold at CVS.

A spokesperson for Fruit of the Earth was not immediately available for comment.

P&G is asking that the Irving, Texas-based company stop distributing the products and to notify its retailers to impound or return all products.

With a full range of facial, body and bath products, Pure is aiming to appeal to those beauty shoppers seeking products that “good for the body.” The company’s creams, facial serums, soaps and lip balms are made with natural oils that have been extracted from seeds, nuts, fruits and grains, as well as herbs and essential oils.

Founder Michele LoBosco started making homemade skin care products in her kitchen after becoming frustrated with her search for a skin care line made with all natural ingredients.

Gillette sweepstakes offers golfers chance to learn from the best

BOSTON Gillette is offering consumers an opportunity to learn how to look and play like a golf champion with a private training session from golf coach Hank Haney.

As part of the Gillette Champions program, the online sweepstakes and instant win game promotion, which runs through April 15, 2008, will give one consumer the grand prize of a three day, two night trip for two and a private golf lesson with Haney. Haney is a national PGA Teacher of the Year who has taught more than 100 touring professionals from the PGA, LPGA and European, Japanese and Asian tours.
