Paul Walker named face of Davidoff Cool Water

BY Antoinette Alexander

PARIS — Coty’s Prestige division has signed an agreement with actor Paul Walker to be the new face of the Davidoff Cool Water fragrance advertising campaign that is slated to launch worldwide in July.

The agreement with Coty marks Walker’s first foray into the fragrance market.

"Paul Walker is a natural choice to represent Davidoff Cool Water. He truly embodies the values of this legendary fragrance. Not only thanks to his personal commitment around oceans, but also for his intense energy, powerful masculinity and cool attitude that characterize him," stated Francoise Mariez, SVP international European marketing licenses for Coty Prestige.

The American actor played Brian O’Connor in "The Fast and the Furious" films, and has acted in several other films, including Clint Eastwood’s "Flags of Our Fathers," "Eight Below," "Joy Ride" and "Takers." He will be seen next reprising his role of Brian O’Connor opposite Vin Diesel in "Fast Five," being released in the spring.

Aero Minerale coming to Walmart

BY Antoinette Alexander

CAMARILLO, Calif. — Classified Cosmetics, a developer of aerosol airbrush makeup, is looking to bring the technology to the mass market with the introduction of Aero Minerale mineral makeup mist at select Walmart stores.

Classified Cosmetics launched in 2001 with a prestige brand. The launch of Aero Minerale at Walmart combines Classified Cosmetics’ patented aerosol airbrush technology with a hydrating micro-mineral formula. The result, according to the manufacturer, is a widely accessible "masstige" brand with professional results. To use, just shake, aim and spray.

Aero Minerale is a micro-mineral makeup infused with aloe and additional moisturizing vitamins and botanicals. Lightweight, natural-looking and long-lasting, Aero Minerale promises not to accentuate fine lines or to dry and irritate skin.

The Aero Minerale line currently includes a 5-in-1 makeup primer, 10 foundation shades, two bronzers and two illuminating shimmers.

Celebrity makeup artist and Classified Cosmetics founder and CEO Yolanda Halston created the patented aerosol airbrush makeup in 2001 after five years of self-funded research addressing the needs of post-cosmetic surgery skin.

Reckitt Benckiser continues to trim carbon footprint

BY Allison Cerra

PARSIPPANY, N.J. — Reckitt Benckiser has narrowed its carbon footprint by 11% in 2010, the company said.

The company, which owns such brands as Clearasil, Lysol and Woolite, said the reduction is part of its Carbon20 program, which aims to reduce its products’ impact on climate change by 20% by 2020.

"Focusing on climate change is right for our business, right for our industry and right for society," said Bart Becht, Reckitt Benckiser CEO. "Our Carbon20 program establishes ambitious targets for RB, and I’m pleased that we are on track to exceed them. However, much remains to be done in the realm of combating climate change, and RB will not rest in our quest to drive progress."
