Nivea introduces 2008 product line
WILTON, Conn. Nivea, a Beiersdorf brand, has introduced several new products for 2008 including a new Cellulite Body Beauty Program that consists of Gel-Cream and dietary supplement capsules.
The 30-day program will be available at retail in April. The Good-Buy Cellulite Gel-Cream, formulated with skin’s own L-Carnitine, promises to visibly reduce the appearance of cellulite. The Gel-Cream is to be applied daily for noticeably firmer skin within two weeks, and a visible reduction in the appearance of cellulite within four weeks. A second part of the program is a dietary supplement to be taken up to three times a day.
The program has a suggested retail price of $18.99 for a 6.7-ounce Gel-Cream and 30 supplements.
Also new under the Nivea umbrella is Natural Tone created for skin of color. Natural Tone, also available in April, is designed to gradually even out skin tone and help prevent future discolorations while keeping skin soft and moisturized.
Natural Tone is available in a 6.8-ounce creme for $6.99 or a 13.5-ounce lotion for $6.99.
For extra dry skin there’s the new Smooth Sensation Body Oil enriched with avocado oil. The oil, which is ideal for application on damp skin after showering or bathing, has a suggested retail price of $6.99 for an 8.4-ounce bottle
JH Partners’ Hansen and John to leave Bare Escentuals board
SAN FRANCISCO Bare Escentuals, a maker of mineral makeup, has announced the departure of two board members who are partners in JH Partners, a private equity firm.
According to a filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission, Michael John, a member of the board of directors, will not stand for re-election at the company’s annual meeting in May. In addition, John Hansen, also a member of the board of directors, will resign from the board, effective April 15.
JH Partners’ institutional funds distributed all of the shares of the company’s common stock held by them to their various partners in November 2007. As a result, JH Partners’ funds no longer hold a significant interest in the company’s common stock, and Hansen and John have decided to leave the board to focus on other matters. According to the company, their decision is not the result of any disagreement within the company.
Aveeno introduces Positively Ageless product line
SKILLMAN, N.J. Aveeno, a Johnson & Johnson Consumer Cos. brand, has introduced a line of anti-age products dubbed Positively Ageless.
The new Positively Ageless Lifting & Firming products from Aveeno are infused with natural wheat protein to tighten and tone skin and a natural shiitake complex that decelerates the breakdown of collagen and elastin, and reduces the appearance of lines and wrinkles.
The collection includes Lifting & Firming Eye Cream, Lifting & Firming Daily Moisturizer SPF 30 and Lifting & Firming Night Cream. The products are priced at $19.99 each.
According to the company, the Lifting & Firming products, which are hypoallergenic and non-comedogenic, are packaged using post-consumer recycled materials.
