Mtn Dew brings back Baja Blast

Mtn Dew announced plans to bring back a blast from the past, but only for a limited time. The Purchase, N.Y.-based company is adding the Baja Blast beverage to its portfolio.

The tropical-lime beverage will be re-released in bottles and cans, beginning April 23, which marks the first time in two years consumers will be able to go out and purchase the beverage, the company said.

“Summer’s most wanted flavor is back, and it’s all thanks to the tireless efforts of Dew Nation,” Chauncey Hamlett, senior director of marketing, Mtn Dew said. “We were overwhelmed by all of the love we saw on social media and other channels, so we worked hard to bring back Mtn Dew Baja Blast. We’re always listening to Dew Nation and we’re excited to give them exactly what they’ve been craving.”

To celebrate the re-launch of Baja Blast, the company will be giving fans who use the hashtag #BringBajaBlastBack on social media the opportunity to appear in a video series to be shared on Mtn Dew’s social channels.

Mtn Dew’s Baja Blast will be available for purchase in 20-oz. bottles, 12 packs of 12-oz. cans and additional multipack sizes. Further information can be found on the brand’s website and social media channels.

M&M’S goes for extra chocolate in new cookie sandwiches

Mars Wrigley Confectionery is catering to chocolate lovers everywhere by introducing the latest addition to the M&M’s ice cream family.

The new M&M’S chocolate cookie sandwich features reduced fat chocolate ice cream surrounded by two home-style chocolate cookies with miniature versions of the bite-sized candy inside.

“Following the success or our original M&M’S cookie sandwich, we are excited to provide chocolate lovers everywhere with a new treat made just for them,” Emily Strobel, marketing director of Mars Ice Cream, said. “This addition to our M&M’S Ice Cream lineup is not only perfect for ice cream fans but as a brand, we are thrilled to build on the success of the original M&M’S Cookie Sandwiches.

The Hackettstown, N.J.-based company’s new chocolate cookie sandwiches are now available at convenience, drug, mass and grocery stores nationwide, with the suggested retail price starting at $4.99 per one six-pack box and $1.99 for a 4-oz. bar.

TGI Fridays adds extra spice to snack line

Inventure Foods, the creator of the TGI Fridays snack line, has unveiled two of the brand’s latest innovations that are to be featured in the established Party Bites and Potato Skin offerings.

“Innovation in indulgent snacking continues to be our number one goal,” Steve Sklar, senior vice president and general manager at Inventure Foods, said. “We have the unique opportunity of being able to offer ultimate snackers the trendy flavors they crave through our TGI Fridays product lines. We are able to get creative and pack new varieties with flavors that are quickly becoming favorites and staples in consumer’s kitchens, while also providing a tasty snack perfect for any party.”

Inspired by original Friday dishes, the new snack varieties include:

  • Chipotle Cheese Party Bites that contain cheese and chipotle spice;
  • Cheddar Bacon Party Bites that feature cheese and bacon; and
  • Sriracha Ranch Potato Skins that have sriracha with cool ranch.

All three new offerings are available for purchase in convenience stores nationwide. The Chipotle Cheese and Cheddar Bacon Party Bites come packaged in a 2.25-oz. bag that retails for $1.99. The Potato Skins are packaged in 3-oz. bags that retail for $1.99 each.
