‘Mini makeovers,’ product demonstrations to be featured at Bartell’s health and beauty event

SEATTLE — Bartell Drugs is sponsoring "Health and Beauty" events this month at dozens of its stores, the regional retail pharmacy chain said.

Events will start Sunday and run for 13 days afterward, and will include blood-glucose testing, glucose-meter exchange and education, cholesterol testing, bone-density screenings, blood-pressure testing and others. In addition, there will be free "mini makeover" demonstrations and hair styling tips by Conair and product samplings ranging from cosmetics to supplements.

Representatives from Seattle-based Heather’s Tummy Care will provide information about digestive health and irritable bowel syndrome, while 30 Bartell’s stores will have demonstrations of products from Almay, Covergirl, Neutrogena, NYX and Revlon. At five stores, representatives of EveryMove.com will provide information about their new health rewards program with Bartell’s, and customers signing up will receive an EveryMove card with extra bonus points.

NEW YORK — LaRoche-Posay skin care company is challenging its fans to start something new in their life and to be confident in their clear skin with the new Clear Commitments contest, a movement created to inspire people to make "clear" and simple commitments for themselves on a new challenge they want to accomplish this year. Participants will have an opportunity to win $5,000.

Here’s how to enter:

  2. Share your commitment and upload a picture representing it.

  3. Get your friends to vote!

  4. Submit your commitment from 10 a.m. EST on March 1 to 11:59 p.m. EST on March 15.
