Mike and Ike’s lemonade blend candies to hit store shelves this week

BETHLEHEM, Pa. A new five-flavor assortment of Mike and Ike candies, Lemonade Blends, is coming to U.S. retailers.

Included in the Lemonade Blends mix are lemonade, lime lemonade, raspberry lemonade, strawberry lemonade and tangerine lemonade flavors. The Mike and Ike Lemonade Blends candies will be available for a limited time.

The new flavors came about after a contest held by Just Born to decide a new flavor of Mike and Ike’s candy. More than 140,000 votes were compiled online.

In conjunction with the new candy flavors, Mike and Ike’s has committed to making a minimum annual donation of $100,000 to Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation, an organization with a goal to cure childhood cancer.

Purple names former Red Bull exec as its vice president of East Coast sales

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. Purple Beverage Co. today announced that Dan Morelli will move into a seat as vice president of East Coast sales and distribution. Morelli comes to the Purple team after leading sales at Red Bull for nearly a decade.

“We could not be happier to add an industry veteran with so much experience under his belt to our team,” Purple Beverage founder and chief executive officer, Ted Farnsworth, said. “Not only did [Morelli] help launch Red Bull here in the U.S., but his extensive experience will surely give Purple an industry edge.”

Farnsworth predicted Morelli would be key in expanding East Coast distribution.

Purple is an antioxidant-rich fruit beverage sold in convenience, drug and health food stores, as well as supermarkets and other retail venues.

Amish Naturals announces distribution in H-E-B stores

HOLMESVILLE, Ohio Ohio-based Amish Naturals announced today that its products will be carried in more than 90 Southwestern H.E.Butt Grocery Co. locations.

H-E-B, the number one retailer in San Antonio, with a 73 percent market share, will carry five varieties of Amish Naturals’ organic fettuccine pasta—including: Plain, Wheat, Tomato Basil, Garlic Parsley, Spinach, and Fiber-Rich—throughout Texas, the company reported.

Amish Naturals manufactures and distributues organic and natural pastas, condiments and bakery products. “We are pleased to partner with H-E-B, a company known for its fresh products, to introduce more consumers to our brand,” said Bill Pardee, Amish Naturals’ director of sales. “Amish Naturals is accelerating its growth throughout the region and the H-E-B partnership will help make our products even more accessible.”
