McKesson Specialty Health integrates distribution services
THE WOODLANDS, Texas & SUMMIT, N.J. — McKesson Specialty Health, a division of McKesson Corp., last week announced the integration of its distribution services with General Medical Services' Physician Office Drug Inventory System. The alliance creates the first end-to-end integrated iventory and order-to-reimbursement verification solution designed for ophthalmologists.

Ophthalmology providers will now be able to take advantage of numerous benefits under the new integrated inventory solution, which includes increased efficiency with automated ordering functionality as well as real time order tracking and direct payment.

Debbie Allen, Janssen Pharmaceuticals team up for health-and-wellness program
RARITAN, N.J. — Debbie Allen, an Emmy-award winning actress and choreographer is teaming up with dancers from the television dance competition "So You Think You Can Dance" and Janssen Pharmaceuticals to launch T2 Dance Crew, a national education and wellness program that encourages people with Type 2 diabetes to increase physical activity as part of managing their condition.
“I saw firsthand how challenging it was for my dad to manage his Type 2 diabetes,” Allen said. “He tried to make some changes in his lifestyle, but the one thing I couldn’t get him to do was exercise more. That’s why I joined the T2 Dance Crew campaign. We are showing millions of people how taking small steps, like dancing, can make a meaningful difference in managing diabetes. The best part is — everybody can dance, and it’s fun!”

Allen joins "So You Think You Can Dance" fan favorites Fik-Shun and Janette Manarara to share inspirational stories and lead instructional dance videos. Additionally, the T2 Dance Crew will host a series of local events that feature live dance classes taught by Fik-Shun and Manrara, health screenings and diabetes education across the country.

Thomas’ announces flavor of the year
HORSHAM, Pa. — The Thomas’ brand, a creator and baker of English Muffins, introduced it’s flavor of the year: Cinnamon Vanilla. This is the only new flavor the company will offer in 2014.
Thomas’ Cinnamon Vanilla English Muffins take inspiration from fresh cinnamon buns and provide the same sweet scent and flavor for 150 calories, the company said. The flavor is part of Thomas’ new Limited Edition line, which will include different seasonal flavors every three months: Cinnamon Vanilla English Muffins and Maple French Toast Bagels (through July 2014); Apple Pie English Muffins and Bagels (July through October 2014); and Cranberry English Muffins and Bagels (October through December 2014).
