L’Oréal USA expands SalonCentric division

NEW YORK — L’Oréal USA is extending its coverage of American hair salons by acquiring the professional distribution business of Peel’s Salon Services, a Nebraska-based company.

L’Oréal USA acquired Peel’s Salon Services through its SalonCentric division. Through the acquisition, the SalonCentric division is extending its distribution territory, now covering the vast majority of the United States.

Peel’s Salon Services, which has net sales of roughly $100 million, supplies hair salons in 12 states across the mid United States with a network of representatives and outlets for professionals.

Philips Norelco highlights SensoTouch 3D shaver with ‘TRON: Legacy’ promotion

STAMFORD, Conn. — In line with its newest line of electric shavers, Philips Norelco is collaborating with Disney to offer fans an exclusive look at the film "TRON: Legacy" before its theatrical release.

Philips Norelco’s 3DShave.com/TRON site highlights the recent launch of the SensoTouch 3D shaver, which promises the closest shave yet, and also gives site visitors the opportunity to play games and enter to win advance screenings of the film and other sweepstakes, including a chance to win $10,000 for a 3-D home theater upgrade.

Advance screenings of "TRON: Legacy" began Monday and will continue Wednesday in the following cities: Atlanta; Bentonville/Rogers, Ark.; Boston; Chicago; Dallas; Detroit; Fort Lauderdale/Miami, Fla.; Houston; Los Angeles; Minneapolis/Apple Valley, Minn.; New York; Philadelphia; Phoenix/Tempe, Ariz.; San Francisco; Seattle; and Washington, D.C.

"We’re excited to work with Disney to offer fans an incredible first look at ‘TRON: Legacy’ in 3-D," said Jacopo D’Alessandris, VP marketing at Philips Norelco, North America. "With the introduction of the Norelco SensoTouch 3D, we’ve created our most technologically advanced electric shaver, and through our promotion, we are inviting people to see how ‘The Game Has Changed’ as the ultimate 3-D shaving experience meets the ultimate 3-D movie experience. It’s the perfect collaboration."

Curél taps Kris Jenner for charity

NEW YORK — Curél Skincare has teamed up with television star and celebrity mom Kris Jenner to create an exclusive, limited-edition coat for the season in honor of charity One Warm Coat.

Jenner collaborated with the designers at Searle to create the custom, limited-edition Barrier coat, which can be purchased for $198 at Curel.com.

"At One Warm Coat, our mission is to provide any person in need with a warm coat, free of charge," stated president Sherry Lewis Wood. "The Curél professionals have made a generous donation and we’re so thankful to them and to Kris and Searle for their support. We’re confident that we can provide many, many more warm coats this season with their help."

The complete Curél Skincare collection recently was reformulated to include ceramides, helping fortify skin’s own protective moisture barrier to keep hydration in and irritants out.
