L’Oréal Canada names chief marketing officer
MONTREAL—L’Oréal Canada has announced the appointment of Stéphane Bérubé as chief marketing officer.
Stéphane Bérubé has close to 20 years of experience in the beauty industry. In 2002, he joined L’Oréal Canada as a marketing director for the Maybelline New York brand. He then moved on to become brand director of the L’Oréal Paris brand in 2005, and became GM two years later.
In 2013, Bérubé was named GM of media and innovation for L’Oréal Canada. In this role, he oversaw L’Oréal Canada’s media investments and negotiations, as well as large-scale corporate sponsorships. In his new role as chief marketing officer, he will be in charge of creating a pool of knowledge, activities, development and expertise around five major axes: consumer care centre, consumer insights, business intelligence, digital and customer relationship management.
This appointment is the first structural change announced by Frank Kollmar, L’Oréal Canada’s newly appointed president and CEO. Kollmar was, until recently, president of the consumer products division in Canada, after a 15-year international career within the L’Oréal Group.
MobileHelp targets medication adherence with new Rx reminder app
BOCA RATON, Fla. — Empowering its customers with new ways to manage their health, MobileHelp — a provider of mobile Personal Emergency Response System solutions — has launched a new medication reminder application.
“We know medication errors cost the healthcare system billions of dollar per year and that people older than 65 [years] have a medication error rate nearly seven times greater than those younger than 65 [years] — primarily because they simply have more medications to manage,” said Robert Flippo, MobileHelp CEO. “This application was designed to prevent those kinds of errors from happening.”
The new application works in conjunction with the company’s mobile personal emergency response system and the MobileHelp Connect web portal and provides the following features and benefits for users:
- A medication reminder alert through vocal announcement, which is pushed out through the MobileHelp cellular base station — acting as a medication “alarm clock;”
- A view of important prescription information, such as dosage days and times;
- The ability to add new prescription information; and
- The ability to set and change medication schedules.
When the customer acknowledges the vocal medication reminder with a push of the device’s reset button, the main dashboard of the MobileHelp Connect web portal will immediately reflect the updated information, giving users and authorized caregivers the ability to track medication adherence, the company stated.
Ocean Spray celebrates newest state-of-the-art facility
LAKEVILLE-MIDDLEBORO, Mass. — Ocean Spray Cranberries, an agricultural cooperative and producer of cranberry products, on Tuesday celebrated the grand opening of its newest beverage facility in the Upper Macungie Township of Pennsylvania. The plant is the company’s first in the state and will handle about 40% of the cooperative’s North American volume once it’s fully operational later this year.
“The Grower-Owners of Ocean Spray Cranberries have made a major investment here in Pennsylvania, and today’s celebration is the result of a lot of hard work by our employees and partners on this project,” said Randy Papadellis, president and CEO of Ocean Spray. “As a cooperative founded on the work ethic and values of its many Grower-Owners, Ocean Spray is committed to bringing a neighborly culture everywhere we do business. We are pleased to be joining the Lehigh Valley community, and we look forward to being a part of the Pennsylvania economy for many decades to come.”
Ocean Spray broke ground on the 44-acre site in April 2012, and more than 1,000 workers put in countless hours to build the nearly 300,000 sq.-ft. plant. It will be responsible for generating 30 million cases of Ocean Spray juice beverages each year, which range from 100% cranberry juice to blends made with blueberry, grapefruit, pomegranate and other juices.
