Lindt expands premium chocolate portfolio with new raisin and nuts bar

STRATHAM, N.H. Decadent confectioner Lindt announced the newest addition to its chocolate portfolio, the new Lindt Classic Recipe Raisin & Nuts bar.

The Lindt Master Chocolatiers have perfected a timeless recipe with the addition of the to its premium chocolate collection. The new bar, which combines creamy, smooth milk chocolate with raisins, gently roasted almonds and hazelnuts, is now available at Lindt Chocolate Shops and wholesale locations nationwide.

“The Lindt Classic Raisin & Nuts bar is the perfect balance of the highest-quality premium chocolate, raisins and nuts and provides a delicious taste that all chocolate lovers will enjoy,” said Thomas Linemayr, CEO and president of Lindt USA. “This new creation is chewy, crunchy, chocolate perfection.”

Pepsi Bottling Group completes acquisition of Mass.-based bottler

SOMERS, N.Y. The Pepsi Bottling Group announced that it has completed its acquisition of Pepsi-Cola Bottlers for the Merrimack Valley, Inc. Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

The Haverhill, Mass.-based company is a Pepsi-Cola franchised bottler serving northeastern Massachusetts.

PBG has now completed four U.S. bottler acquisitions since the beginning of 2008. The company also recently announced plans to acquire Ab-Tex Beverage, Ltd., a Pepsi-Cola and Dr Pepper bottler based in Abilene, Texas. The Ab-Tex transaction is expected to close in the third quarter.

Edy’s, Dreyer’s debut new hot cocoa flavor to its Slow Churned light ice cream line

OAKLAND , Calif. Edy’s and Dreyer’s announced the latest Hot Cocoa flavor addition to their Slow Churned light ice cream lines.

Slow Churned Hot Cocoa light ice cream blends sweet and fluffy marshmallows to a creamy chocolate light ice cream to create the same rich flavor but with half the fat and one-third fewer calories.

“Dreyer’s Slow Churned holiday flavors are perfect for everyone who loves the desserts of the season, but wants to save some calories while indulging,” said John Harrison, official taster for Dreyer’s Grand Ice Cream.
