Kill bedbugs on the go with travel-size Pronto Plus spray

BY Michael Johnsen

LANGHORNE, Pa. Insight Pharmaceuticals on Thursday introduced a travel-friendly 3-oz. container of its Pronto Plus bedbug spray in time for the busy Thanksgiving holiday travel season. Pronto Plus kills bedbugs and their eggs on contact and is available at Walmart, Wegmans and Bed Bath & Beyond, Insight reported.

“We’ve seen an increase in sales of Pronto Plus spray due to the rise of bedbug infestations across the country,” stated Gary Downing, CEO of Insight Pharmaceuticals. “The decision to produce a 3-oz. size is a natural extension for the Pronto Plus brand because bedbugs are known to spread through travel.”

The National Pest Management Association has reported a 71% increase in bedbug reports from 2000 to 2005 and a rate of hotel infestations at 67% in 2010.

Fresh & Easy gives back with holiday food drive

BY Allison Cerra

EL SEGUNDO, Calif. — Regional supermarket chain Fresh & Easy has kicked off its in-store food drive for the holiday season.

The food drive, which will benefit food banks in the California, Nevada and Arizona markets, asked customers to donate canned and boxed goods at any store location through Christmas Eve. Between donations from customers and Fresh & Easy stores, more than $1 million in food will be given to local food banks and charities to help fight hunger this holiday season, the retailer said.

"It’s important to support our neighbors through partnerships like we have with local food banks," said Fresh & Easy neighborhood affairs director Roberto Munoz. "We are happy to support organizations year-round that help those in need, and are excited to work with our customers to give back even more this holiday season."
