J.M. Smith Corp. acquires Integra

BY David Salazar

SPARTANSBURG, S.C. — J.M. Smith announced this week that it had acquired pharmacy workflow system maker Integra’s line of offerings and will manage them under the subsidiary Integra LTC Solutions. The company said that its acquisition of Integra would help it utilize best practices and explore long-term care pharmacy market opportunities.

“The long term care pharmacy market is strategically important to our organization, and several of our companies are committed to our role in providing excellent products and services to our long term care pharmacy customers,” said William Cobb, Chairman and CEO of J M Smith Corporation. “Integra is known for its offerings and customer service in this field, so they are a good fit for us.”

Among Integra’s offerings is its Logix business process automation software, the DocuTrack system, which automates fax, electronic and paper processing and DeliveryTrace, which helps pharmacy owners oversee delivery processes. Integra will stay operating as an open platform that can be integrated into other industry software, and will keep working on integration with other company’s like J.M Smith subsidiary QS1.

“QS1 has worked with Integra products for many years. They have attended our Customer Conference and worked with us to offer our mutual customers excellent products and support,” QS1 president Tammy Devine said. “We are looking forward to working with the newest member of J M Smith Corporation.”

Study: Shoppers get smart with mobile

BY Dan Berthiaume

Scottsdale, Ariz. — Shoppers keep getting smarter about using their mobile devices.

According to a new study from OneStop Marketing, 83% of mobile users now engage in shopping activities on their phone immediately before, during or after a trip to the store.

In addition, 45% of online traffic during the 2014 holiday season came from mobile but only 20% of sales came from mobile devices, indicating a substantial opportunity to increase mobile conversion rates.

Looking at holiday trends further, OneStop found that 66% of consumers plan to buy half their holiday gifts online and 80% of consumers will start shopping for gifts before the start of the holiday season. Fifty percent of shoppers are likely to purchase from a new retailer during the holiday.

Other findings include:

  • 78% of consumers are more likely to buy products if a retailer makes targeted and personalized offers.
  • Seventy percent of consumers expect some level of personalization.
