Giant Eagle selects pharmacy workflow automation system

SAN DIEGO RxSafe on Thursday announced the installation of its RxSafe 1800 system at a Giant Eagle in the Pittsburgh market.

The RxSafe system is a pharmacy workflow automation system for prescription medication in native packaging. The system allows pharmacies to accurately fill and track prescriptions, manage inventory, eliminate theft and diversion, and avoid expired product. The customizable RxSafe system stores and automates up to 5,400 native prescription containers in less than 40 sq. ft. of space and realizes a peak capacity of up to 500 scripts per hour in multi-operator mode.

“We’re honored to have our leadership in pharmacy automation technology validated by Giant Eagle’s interest in our new system,” stated William Holmes, RxSafe CEO.

Stater Bros. to offer flu vaccinations in stores

SAN BERNARDINO, Calif. Stater Bros. announced that it will provide flu vaccination clinics in partnership with Mollen Immunization Clinics. The vaccinations will be offered during scheduled days and times from Sept. 1 to Oct. 23 at all 167 Stater Bros. Supermarket locations.

Licensed nurses will administer the vaccines to those ages 4 years and older. Vaccinations will be provided while supplies last.

Brown, Stater Bros. chairman and CEO. “Stater Bros. has a long-standing history of providing low prices and giving back to the communities it serves. Mollen Immunization Clinics is an approved Medicare part B provider, so customers that present their Medicare ID cards may be eligible to receive the vaccinations with no out-of-pocket costs.

Pharmacy OneSource ranked as one of the fastest-growing private companies in U.S.

BELLEVUE, Wash. Inc. magazine has ranked a Pacific Northwest pharmacy software company on its list of the 5,000 fastest-growing private companies in the United States.

Pharmacy OneSource — a healthcare software-as-a-service provider based in Bellevue, Wash., whose Web-based services are used in more than 1,300 healthcare organizations worldwide — heralded in an announcement Wednesday the news that it ranked 1,932 on Inc.’s list, as well as 38 in the list of the top 50 businesses in Washington state’s Puget Sound area, comprising Seattle, Bellevue and Tacoma. The company has made the list four years in a row.

The Inc. 5,000 is based on percentage revenue growth between 2006 and 2009 — revenues must have been at least $80,000 in 2006 and at least $2 million in 2009.

“We are very excited to be selected to the Inc. 5,000 for the fourth year in a row,” Pharmacy OneSource president and CEO Tim Gibbons stated. “This is truly a tribute to the hard work and dedication of our Pharmacy OneSource staff.”
