EyeScience launches computer eye strain formula
COLUMBUS, Ohio — EyeScience on Thursday introduced a new eye vitamin for those who spend their work day staring at a computer screen in an effort to help prevent and alleviate vision problems associated with computer vision syndrome.
"With more than 70% of computer users suffering from computer vision syndrome, this new vitamin marks a significant leap in reducing eye strain and eye fatigue symptoms caused by many hours of computer use," EyeScience Labs president and CEO Jeff Northup said. "The ingredients in our formula help improve symptoms associated with tiredness, soreness, dryness and blurry vision."

New single-concentration acetaminophen products added to PediaCare, Little Remedies lines
IRVINGTON, N.Y. — Prestige Brands on Thursday announced the launch of its new PediaCare and Little Remedies single-concentration acetaminophen products.
The new standard concentration liquid acetaminophen products for infants and children under 2 years of age will be 160 mg/5 mL.
“The voluntary changes to single-concentration acetaminophen dosing demonstrate the continued commitment to accuracy, safety and innovation from PediaCare and Little Remedies," Prestige VP over-the-counter products Albert Hwang said.
Both PediaCare and Little Remedies also will offer additional product enhancements, including age-appropriate dosing devices. Infant products now will contain a special dosing syringe and flow restrictors on the bottles. Children’s products, for ages 2 to 11 years, will have the bottles with flow restrictors and will continue to contain dosing cups. Both infant and children’s formulations will continue to have weight-based instructions on the package as well.
“While the new single-concentration for PediaCare and Little Fevers infants’ and children’s acetaminophen products will be among the first brands to hit store shelves, parents should know that there will be a ’transition period’ during which the existing concentrated infant products and the new standard-strength acetaminophen infant PediaCare and Little Fevers products may be on store shelves simultaneously,” Hwang said. “The new infant formula is less concentrated, and the dose is therefore more than in the older infant formulation. GMDC’s SEC format will be featured at the 2011 HBW Conference
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. — Global Market Development Center on Thursday announced that its 2011 HBW Conference, which will be held in Phoenix from Sept. 9 to 12, will feature the Senior Executive Conference for the sixth time.
The SEC format helps foster business development opportunities and consists of 40-minute appointments that took place in more relaxed venues than the traditional controlled casual conferences.
This year, as many as 60 member companies have registered to participate, GMDC said.
“The SEC meetings have proven to be an excellent forum to exchange strategies and tactics with our key vendor partners," Meijer VP drug store Nat Love said. "We have participated in the SEC meetings every year and use them for last-minute fourth-quarter opportunities and for setting the stage for the upcoming year.”
