Eos launches new Lip Balm Smooth Sphere
NEW YORK — Personal care brand Eos has announced the launch of its new tangerine medicated anti-bacterial Lip Balm Smooth Sphere.
The medicated lip balm is 95% natural and provides antibacterial protection through the natural active ingredient phenol, the company stated. The lip balm promises to not only help soothe dry lips and prevent the spread of germs, but also alleviate the symptoms of cold sores.
Infused with antioxidants, zinc, vitamins C and E, and moisturizing ingredients shea butter and jojoba oil, the lip balm promises to soften lips while also protecting them.
It is free of petrolatum, parabens and gluten, and is not tested on animals. The smooth sphere packaging is recyclable.
Eos Lip Balm Smooth Spheres, priced at $3.29 each, are available at such retailers as Walmart, Target, Walgreens, CVS and Rite Aid.
GeoGirl caters to Gen Z beauty mavens
NEW YORK — Walmart is looking to target little beauty mavens in their tweens with the launch of a new beauty brand dubbed GeoGirl, according to published reports.
GeoGirl, which is owned by Pacific World, will debut in February and reportedly will replace the Mary-Kate and Ashley beauty line at Walmart, according to reports.
The line is positioned as "the first complete collection of fun, informative, natural makeup and skin care for Generation Z."
The beauty collection is made with such natural ingredients as white willow bark, chamomile and lavender, and the packaging is recyclable. In addition, the company will donate a portion of the net profits to charity. Products in the line include TiSC body mist, QTPi mineral blush and J4G lip balm, according to reports.

Gwen Stefani becomes latest face of L’Oréal Paris
PARIS — L’Oréal Paris has tapped fashion icon and rock star Gwen Stefani to be the brand’s new international face.
By joining the L’Oréal Paris family, Stefani will represent her own vision for beauty alongside such other representatives as Jennifer Lopez, Milla Jovovich, Diane Keaton, Beyoncé Knowles, Diane Kruger, Evangeline Lilly, Andie MacDowell, Julianna Margulies, Eva Longoria, Freida Pinto and Kerry Washington.
"Gwen’s unique personal style and vivacious spirit, together with her career accomplishments in both fashion and music, makes her an inspiration for women everywhere, and an exciting addition to the L’Oréal family," stated Karen Fondu, president of L’Oréal Paris USA.
Stefani, a composer, songwriter and singer, has been a member of the band No Doubt since they met in high school and began playing music in their garage. No Doubt has sold more than 30 million copies of its albums and the band has received many Grammy nominations and won two in 2003.
In 2004, Stefani released her Grammy-nominated side project Love. Angel. Music. Baby. In 2006, she released her second dance record, The Sweet Escape, and won the 2008 People’s Choice Award for favorite female singer of the year.
After wrapping up a sold out summer tour in 2009, No Doubt has begun recording their new album for release in 2011.
In the fashion world, Stefani has received acclaim for her two fashion brands: L.A.M.B. and Harajuku Lovers.
