Eight O’Clock Coffee named among America’s Greatest Brands

MONTVALE, N.J. — A whole bean coffee has been honored as one of the most respected U.S. brands.

Eight O’Clock Coffee has been featured in the eighth edition of America’s Greatest Brands, an annual publication recognizing esteemed U.S. brands. Published by the American Brands Council, America’s Greatest Brands highlights some of the country’s strongest and most trusted business brands, delving into each brand’s market, positioning, history and heritage, Eight O’Clock Coffee said.

Recently, Eight O’Clock Coffee debuted new packaging for its iconic coffee, which has been on the market for nearly two centuries.

Dr Pepper wraps up 125th anniversary celebration

PLANO, Texas — A soft drink is wrapping up the year-long celebration of its flavorful history.

Dr Pepper, which marked its 125th anniversary earlier this year, is drawing the celebration to a close by commemorating the 125th anniversary of the first time Dr Pepper was served at Morrison’s Old Corner Drug Store in Waco, Texas, as recognized in documents filed in the Patent and Trademark Office.

The soft drink brand’s anniversary celebration included an advertising campaign featuring rock band Kiss and limited-edition collectible cans. Dr Pepper also launched a social media campaign on DrPepper.com, Twitter and Facebook, which made fans aware of Dr Pepper’s history by posting new facts to the sites throughout the year. Dr Pepper now has more than 5.8 million fans on Facebook and more than 25,000 Twitter followers, the company said.

"The enduring success of Dr Pepper can be attributed to its unique flavor and ability to connect with generations of fans. Fans of the brand view it as an exceptional and refreshing way to express their own uniqueness," said Dave Fleming, director of marketing for Dr Pepper.

Wilton introduces giant-gingerbread-house kit

WOODRIDGE, Ill. — Wilton’s line of popular gingerbread-house kits is expanding with a version designed for the "upwardly mobile."

Wilton’s new giant-gingerbread-house kit measures approximately 8 in. high by 9 in. wide and retails for $39.99. The more modest, starter homes begin at $12.99 for a house that measures approximately 5 in. by 5 in. Wilton also offers a gingerbread tree kit, gingerbread boy cookie kit and gingerpops cookie kit that feature ready-to-decorate, prebaked cookies — icing mix and candies included.

“Decorating a gingerbread house gets the whole family into the holiday spirit,” said Nancy Siler, VP at Wilton Enterprises. “Our Wilton kits make it easy because everything is included. They are a festive at-home holiday centerpiece or a wonderful gift.”
