CoverGirl’s melting pout lip glosses go holographic

BY Gisselle Gaitan

On the heels of launching its Melting Pout Lip Metallics line, CoverGirl has unveiled a new holographic addition to its beauty portfolio — the Melting Pout Holographic Lip Gloss. The magical and ultra-glam line is an Ulta Beauty exclusive that can currently be purchased on the retailer’s website and will be hitting its shelves on April 15.

CoverGirl’s new limited-edition collection comes in eight shades — Bang Bang, Debauchery, Kindle, Diversion, Passion Fruit, Revelry, Unicorn Moment and Tingles — that can either be worn on their own or on top of another lip shade for an added pop of color.

Each gloss contains a non-sticky, weightless feel that also moisturizes and conditions lips through hours of wear, the company said.

In addition to adding some major shine to its line, CoverGirl also is partnering with social media influencer Jazmina Daniel on lip art that will showcase each of the shades.

Each Melting Pout Holographic Lip Gloss currently retails for the suggested price of $7.99. Further information can be found on the company’s website and social media channels.

Smooth ‘n Shine unveils collections for curly, straight hair

BY Gisselle Gaitan

When it comes to hair and products to moisturize and revitalize, one size does not fit all. That is why Schwarzkopf’s Smooth ‘n Shine has unveiled not one, but two new collections that target the needs of those with curly and straight hair.

The brand’s first new innovation is the curl line, which was created to empower women to embrace their natural tresses. Featured ingredients within the collection include camellia oil and shea butter to ensure curls, coils, zig-zags and every other texture in between is moisturized.

Smooth ‘n Shine’s curl line features products for four different types of hair — type 1 is for straight hair in need of shine and protection from breakage, type 2 is for wavy tresses looking for shine and detangling, type 3 focuses on curls that crave moisture and definition and type 4 is for coily curls that want moisture and elongation.

The curl line includes: The Curl Defining Moose, Quenching Co-Wash, Curl Defining Gel, Curl Defining Cream, Coil Hydrating Butter, Deep Recovery Treatment, Detangling Foam, Detangling Moisturizing Conditioner, Styling Custard and Anti Breakage Lotion.

Smooth ‘n Shine’s straight line was designed for users desiring sleek styles without having to damage their locks. The collection contains black seed and coconut oils to condition and nourish while leaving less breakage.

The line also contains products designed for various hair types, as in the curl line. Featured products within the line include the Conditioning Polisher, Repairing Polisher, Hydrating Setting Mousse, Bodifying Mousse, Straightening Polisher, Edge Smoothing Pomade, Conditioning Gel and Weightless Styling Gel.

All products within Smooth ‘n Shine’s curl line can be purchased for the suggested retail price of $5.99 each, while the straight line retails for $3.49 each. Smooth ‘n Shine’s collections can be purchased at Albertsons, Dollar General, Kmart, Rite Aid. Wal-Mart, Amazon, Family Dollar, CVS and Target among other major retailers. Further product information can be found on the company’s website.
