Breyers introduces new line of gelato
ENGLEWOOD CLIFFS, N.J. — Breyers, a brand from Unilever, is expanding its line of products with the debut of new Breyers Gelato Indulgences, available in four varieties.

"With its uniquely indulgent trio of textures, Breyers Gelato Indulgences can help busy parents create a great date night right at home, any night of the week."
Consumers will be able to choose among four flavors:
- Breyers Gelato Indulgences Vanilla Caramel – Vanilla gelato topped with caramel sauce and caramelly curls;
- Breyers Gelato Indulgences Raspberry Cheesecake – Cheesecake gelato topped with raspberry sauce and graham crumble;
- Breyers Gelato Indulgences Tiramisu – Mascarpone gelato topped with espresso sauce, ladyfinger cookie pieces and sprinkled with cocoa; and
- Breyers Gelato Indulgences Triple Chocolate – Milk chocolate and dark chocolate gelatos topped with white chocolate sauce and chocolatey curls.
Breyers Gelato Indulgences is available at grocery stores nationwide in a 28.5-oz. tub for a suggested retail price of $4.49 to $5.99
Lay’s issues last call for chip contest submissions
DALLAS — Lay’s, one of the marquee brands from PepsiCo’s Frito-Lay division, has issued a last call for submissions in its search for its next potato chip flavor. Fans now have less than a month to submit their "Do Us A Flavor" contest submissions for a chance to win the $1 million grand prize.
Submissions are open on DoUsAFlavor.com until 11:59:59 p.m. (EST) Saturday, April 5. This marks the second time the Lay’s "Do Us A Flavor" contest has been held in the United States.
As part of this year’s contest, four finalist flavors will be fully developed by Frito-Lay’s culinary experts and unveiled in summer 2014. Then, it will be up to fans to vote for their favorite finalist flavor, with the winning flavor being revealed in November. The three runners-up will each win $50,000 in prize money, with the grand prize winner taking home $1 million or 1% of the winning flavor’s net sales for the period July 1, 2014 through July 1, 2015, or whichever is higher.
Participants will be able to choose from three potato chip products — Lay’s Original, Lay’s Kettle Cooked and/or Lay’s Wavy — for their flavor ideas. They can then submit their flavor suggestions on DoUsAFlavor.com, via Twitter (follow @Lays for details), YouTube.com/Lays, Lay’s Facebook page or by using their cell phone to text FLAVOR to CHIPS (24477). Participants are asked to provide their name, flavor name, up to three ingredients, the chip style and a 140-character description or inspiration for their flavor.
The "Do Us A Flavor" contest made its U.S. debut in summer 2012, with consumers submitting nearly 4 million potato chip flavor ideas. From bacon to apple to cheese, fans offered a multitude of flavor combinations, and Lay’s Cheesy Garlic Bread flavored potato chips ended up being America’s favorite. Inspired by her favorite restaurant dish, Karen Weber-Mendham from Land O’Lakes, Wis., earned the $1 million grand prize.
Jelly Belly gets festive for St. Patrick’s Day
FAIRFIELD, Calif. — Jelly Belly Candy Co. makes more than 100 different flavors of jelly beans, but in celebration of St. Patrick’s Day, it’s showing some special attention to its green Jelly Belly beans. There are 17 green varieties in all, each containing its own special flavor.
The company’s multitude of green treats include Watermelon, Green Apple, Sugar-Free Green Apple, Kiwi, Margarita, Sour Apple, Juicy Pear, Jewel Sour Apple, Booger (yes … booger), Mint Mint Chocolate Chocolate Chip, Mojito, Sunkist Lime, Lawn Clippings, Mango, Lemon Lime, Green Tea and 7up.
The company also is releasing a Green Draft Beer jelly bean, a festive variation of the previously released beer-flavored bean, just for St. Patrick’s Day. It’s available beginning March 14 exclusively (and in limited supply) at Jelly Belly Visitor and Tour Centers in California and Wisconsin.
