AmerisourceBergen awards specialty pharmacy Burmans with ‘Shaping Healthcare Delivery’ honor

BROOKHAVEN, Pa. — Specialty pharmacy Burmans last week announced that it had received the new “Shaping Healthcare Delivery” award at this year’s AmerisourceBergen’s ThinkLive Conference. 
 
Burmans was selected as the first-ever “Shaping Healthcare Delivery” award recipient for enhancing access to treatment for hepatitis C patients through an innovative partnership with AmerisourceBergen. In addition to providing improved access to medication, Burmans’ clinical pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, nurses and disease-specific customer service representatives provide ongoing, individualized care to patients and healthcare providers.
 
“We are honored that AmerisourceBergen has selected us as the first 'Shaping Healthcare Delivery' award winner. They have been a critical partner in our effort to better treatment access to this patient population,” said Steve Burman, president and CEO, Burmans. “Our hepatitis C specialized pharmacy services were specifically designed with a patient-first approach with the goal of supporting patients and physicians throughout the treatment process, while working toward improving outcomes.”
 
Burmans has also tailored clinical treatment programs for Hemophilia, Multiple Sclerosis, GH deficiency, oncology-related conditions, and all other major complex disease states.

Goldman Sachs recognizes UrgentRx founder and CEO as one of the ‘100 Most Intriguing Entrepreneurs of 2014’

DENVER — Goldman Sachs is recognizing entrepreneur and UrgentRx founder and CEO Jordan Eisenberg as one of the 100 Most Intriguing Entrepreneurs of 2014 at its Builders + Innovators Summit in Santa Barbara, Calif., UrgentRx announced Wednesday. Goldman Sachs selected Eisenberg as one of 100 entrepreneurs from multiple industries to be honored at the two-day event.
 
"I am honored to be included among such a talented and diverse group of entrepreneurs," Eisenberg said. "At UrgentRx, we’re committed to bringing new and exciting products to market that help consumers feel better fast. UrgentRx continues to disrupt the OTC medication category through innovative products and impactful consumer marketing. It’s great to be recognized for all of our hard work.”
 
Prior to founding UrgentRx, Eisenberg launched the Buddy Network, a consumer mobile app business that launched a top iPhone app. In addition, Eisenberg built and sold a successful promotional product business based on products he invented and patented (including the CollarCard and BottleCard). He has also invented and licensed a medical device to a major manufacturer. Previously, Eisenberg worked alongside serial entrepreneur Maurice Kanbar (founder of Skyy Vodka), where he was instrumental in the production and launch of several consumer product businesses.

Shopko introduces in-store pick-up service for orders placed through Shopko.com

GREEN BAY, Wis. — Shopko announced Wednesday the rollout of its expanded omnichannel, providing customers more access to product — including the ability to buy products on-line and ship them to store for free. 

After a successful pilot launch, the retailer expanded the program to its 310 locations across the United States. 
 
“We are excited to launch this program since customers have been asking for the ability to ship to store locations," stated Mike Sidders, VP e-commerce. “Customers will love the expanded product assortment available from Shopko.com and the option of shipping it to their nearest Shopko store for free.” 
 
“Ship to store” will be available on thousands of products, including: furniture, housewares, bedding, baby gear and furniture, seasonal and home décor, and jewelry. Customers still get free shipping to their home on orders over $75 at Shopko.com.
