Allure, Good Housekeeping magazines recognize Vichy LiftActiv Serum 10

NEW YORK — Vichy Laboratoires has announced that its Vichy LiftActiv Serum 10, a multitasking serum that hit shelves this year, has been named a "Beauty Breakthrough" by Allure magazine and has earned the Good Housekeeping Seal.

Allure magazine, powered by a panel of beauty editors and industry experts, reviewed the newest skin care, makeup, body and hair products to determine 2012’s best beauty innovations. Vichy LiftActiv Serum 10 was 1-of-18 products to receive the prestigious "Beauty Breakthroughs" award. The "Beauty Breakthroughs" award is part of the magazine’s coveted annual "Best of Beauty Awards," appearing in the October 2012 issue. The winning products, including the Vichy LiftActiv Serum, were honored by Allure at an awards ceremony last week at New York’s Jazz at Lincoln Center.

Allure magazine praised the Vichy LiftActiv Serum 10 for both its ingredient innovation and clinical effectiveness.

After an evaluation by the scientists and experts at the Good Housekeeping Research Institute, Vichy LiftActiv Serum 10 also has earned the Good Housekeeping Seal. It was found to deliver on all claims appearing in the advertising, packaging and other informational materials. Only products that pass Good Housekeeping’s strict evaluation can earn the seal.

Vichy LiftActiv Serum 10 is the first serum formulated with a 10% concentration of rhamnose, a naturally derived plant sugar proven to stimulate rejuvenation of all skin surface layers. One single drop delivers an instant smoothing effect that leaves the skin firmer, tighter and velvety soft. After one month, skin is visibly transformed, with a clinically proven reduction on the appearance of the four main types of facial wrinkles: eye contours, crow’s feet, forehead wrinkles and laugh lines, the company stated. LiftActiv Serum 10 also provides a long-lasting lifting effect while reducing the appearance of pores yet is gentle enough for sensitive skin.

Vichy LiftActiv Serum 10 (priced at $52) is available at select CVS/pharmacy, Duane Reade, Walgreens and Ulta Beauty locations.

Big Y gives birth to loyalty program

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. — Regional supermarket chain Big Y is catering to customers’ bundles of joy with the launch of a new loyalty program.

Baby Y is a free program through which customers receive a variety of incentives, such as coupon offers, discounts on select brands, parenting tips and more. When customers sign up, parents receive a free 30-day supply of select generic prenatal vitamins at Big Y pharmacy and wellness centers, the company said. Additional details about the program can be found on the Baby Y microsite here.

Big Y’s new program follows last year’s launch of A&P’s Live Better Baby Club.

Palmer’s introduces new Eventone BB cream, dark spot corrector

NEW YORK — Palmer’s, the maker of Palmer’s Cocoa Butter Formula facial care products, has officially launched two new skin care items: the Cocoa Butter Formula Eventone BB cream and Cocoa Butter Formula Eventone dark spot corrector.

Both products feature Palmer’s tone enhancing complex, a blend of tone perfecting ingredients, including cocoa butter, niacinamide, soy, licorice extract, synovea and vitamin C. The complex works to keep skin looking brighter and more uniform in tone by diminishing discolored surface cells and inhibiting uneven pigment formation. 
 
The BB cream (priced at $11) is an all-in-one complexion powerhouse that primes, perfects and protects skin, replacing the need for multiple products. The tone enhancing complex — combined with mineral pigment — moisturizes, primes and evens skin tone, and provides SPF 15 sun protection all in one tube. Available in two shades, light/fair and medium/dark, the formula also can be used as a primer for foundation or on its own for lightweight coverage.
 
The dark spot corrector (priced at $15) is a pigment-perfecting concentrate that delivers a dose of key active skin-lightening ingredients to even tone and reveal a more radiant complexion. This complex, combined with the pigment-perfecting Japanese songyi mushroom extract, keeps skin looking brighter and more radiant. Age spots, dark spots, post-acne scars and sun damage are visibly diminished, the company stated.
